SL offers artists a whole different way to express themselves than RL does. The most interesting art is perhaps that which makes use of the posibilities of this world.

Architecture, building and avatar shaping might be art as well. I see many sims who’s creator should be a real artist. What is art, what not? Places that I list here as being a art related location are those of which the owner says it is an art related place and of which I think it is worth listing them.

With all respect I see many locations of individuals who put a texture of a drawings or a photo on a prim, hang that all on a wall and have a notecard giver tell how gifited the artist is who created this. L$1500 per drawing… those are no artist, those are pathetic and you won’t find them here.

One has to create something to be an artist and to be an artist in SL, one has to create something in SL, according to my fully subjective opinion.

Erato or Caerleon

A wonderland of virtual art…dedicated to fun, color, imagination and creativity.

The land is the artwork itself. Beautifull, colorfull, stylefull. I like it, not that I understand about art, but I like it. Perhaps you too, have a look.

You can rezz objects (no auto return, so clean up after you are done), run scripts, push. You can do anyting here if you bring your own devices, comfortable chairs are already provided.

New Caerleon

This Sim confuses me…which perhaps is what art sometimes should do. But of course it makes it hard for me to describe what you’ll find here. A lot and it is definitly a place related to art and artists.

Euphoria realm

People who can know tell me this plase is an artwork itself. Now I don’t want to be caught on understanding nothing about it at all.. so I just say the same:

This place is an artwork itself. Go and see.

From time to time they seem to pick up what is here and replace it with something new.

A sculpture park that is dedicated to art made entireley in Second Life.

The island of the artist Bryn Oh’s. Here he experiments with mood and atmosphere and works on upcoming builds.

Locusolus

It is definitly modern art. SLI Chun doesn’t understand too much about that, so I just point you the place, have a look yourself.

Silvanus

A nice garden (or a wood, not sure where is is the line between those two in SL) 3/8 of a Sim in size and with a rather low traffic count.

Why should you go here? Cause it is beautifull.
